Today we spent the day at the capital buying necessities we were not able to pack in our suitcase and some american comfort foods. The ride was a hour long which left us plenty of bonding time. For an hour we were jamming to music as a group. laughing at our selves as Dominican's looked on with curiosity. It was awesome. We ate at a pizza parlor for lunch. While we waited for our food we played truth or dare. Well it was truth and dare until everyone just started being told to do something awkward in front of everyone. I had to chug a glass of coke and I accidentally spilt it on myself. :P As a part of a truth i had to pray for the meal. There was a bout sixteen people. I was proud of myself, because I do not usuallly pray put loud. There the ride home was even better than the ride there. There was three of us in the back of the bus singing and jamming to the music. I do not think there is any proof of our awesomeness.

First post in the Dominican
First i want to thank everyone was has made this adventure happen whether by a donation or by lifting me up in prayer. This has been an amazing experience already and it has only been a day.
God has revealed himself from the very start. My first flight, i was able to watch the sunrise over the horizon. It was absolutely amazing! The flight attendants were very kind. I was able to navigate the JFK airport with no problem. On my second flight, I was sitting with a very nice man headed to the D.R. for business. I enjoyed talking with him for awhile. After the we landed he helped me through customs. I know God him put him there to help me and I am so thank for that. I was completely filled with peace the whole day.
I am so excited to be here. We have been getting to know one another and just hang out with each other. I have two roommates who are my age. They are both from north Carolina. We start classes officially on tuesday. Until then we are just getting to know one another, the area and the ministries.
This is going to be an amazing year and I cannot wait to share it with you.
