Extra Post

So I have big news. I am heading back to the Dominican Republic in August. I will be there four months come back for one then go back for another four months. I cannot wait. This summer is going to be crazy. For the month of July, my family is hosting a fourteen year old from Latvia. She leaves two weeks before I do, so it is going to be one rough month for my family. Please keep us in your prayers and I will try to keep you updated.

Sponsor Sunday

So I am breaking my rule today and posting a cute little girl. Her name is Marina. I have seen her on the website for a month or two and I thought she had been sponsored but I came across her picture again the other day. I had first noticed her because of her name, which rhymes with mine. Sweet old ladies often call me Corina Marina or sing the Corina song. Yeah, there is a song dedicated to my name. Marina is the same age as the little boy I was corresponding with last year.

Marina lives with her father and her mother. She is responsible for carrying water and cleaning. Her father is sometimes employed as a laborer and her mother maintains the home. There are 3 children in the family.

For fun, Marina enjoys rolling a hoop, singing and playing with dolls. She attends church activities regularly and is in primary school where her performance is average.

Because of your sponsorship, Marina will have new opportunities to learn and grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. Thank you for your concern and prayers.

Fatherless Friday

I am sorry there was such a large gap between posts. My family has been pretty sick these past two weeks. But we are much better, thanks to God.

Today I was think over who I should post when I came across the post that was just written on No Hands But Ours about several children with albinism.  Tayte is there although he is list as Oscar.

Fatherless Friday

There are many boy with albinism who are waiting for a family of their own. Today I want to share
one little energetic boy whose name is Tayte.

Tayte

His profile on Reece's Rainbow says Tayte is a smart and easy going boy. He attends kindergarten where he gets along well with other children. He can feed himself, dress himself and go to the restroom by himself. He picks up toys, sets the table, and is able to do some housework.
He takes the initiative to greet people who he knows and have simple conversation with them. He meets someone and will ask them if they have finished their days work, showing concern for other person.
Because of his vision, he struggles with pictures, but he is a organizer of other kids to teach them the games he learns at school. He will play with those he is unfamiliar with if introduced to them and told to play together. He likes to sit on adults lap and cuddle with caretaker.
He can go up and downstairs. Going down is a bit slow as he is afraid he would fall. He can run very fast and adjust his speed according to the circumstances. He likes to play toys with wheels and music. He especially loves to explore the environment.

His grant is $ 1,711.89

Please pray that he will not have to wait long for his family.

Motherless Monday

I only have one girl to post today. Her special need is albinism.

Vanessa

She does not have a very big grant.

Her profile on Reece's Rainbow says that she is a quiet and active girl who has been diagnosed with albinism. She is a 10 year old girl who always has a ready smile. Vanessa likes jumping on the trampoline and playing with dolls. Vanessa first came to the orphanage at 6 months old. Now, she is 10 years old and has normal physical and cognitive development. Due to her albinism, she does not like to play in the light. Vanessa can move freely in the institute and likes to play with the other children. Vanessa enjoys watching comics and can communicate well with others. Vanessa can put on her clothing without help and can understand easy things such as the answers to “why should you wash your hands before meals”, and “the purpose of a cup”. Vanessa likes to listen to music and play with the other children. She is very close with her caretakers.

Please pray that her family finds her soon.

There only a few children on the website from Thailand right now, but those children have red hearts and a few have been waiting over a year for a loving, letter writing sponsor.

The first little boy, Sitthipong, is dressed in modern Western Clothes underneath his tribal vest. He is so handsome.

Please remember Sitthipong in your prayers. Your love and support will help him to receive the assistance he needs to grow and develop.

The second boy, Pairat,  is obviously from a more rural community. I love that color.

another praise

Don Michael

When I checked Reece's Rainbow last night I was surprised to find that Don Michael has a family committed to him and fighting to bring him home in time. Please pray that God will remove any obstacles in the way of them adopting him before he ages out.
